Why we love it

If you find yourself on Washington Island and love climbing Eagle Tower in Peninsula State Park, add the Mountain Park Lookout Tower to your list. It is a smaller but equally rewarding adventure, with 186 steps leading to a beautiful lookout over the island and surrounding water.

From the top, you can look over the northeast corner of Washington Island toward Rock Island and the Grand Traverse Islands on a clear day. It is a great little workout, a wonderful photo stop, and one of the best ways to take in the island from above.
